Workshop: Financial literacy

Financial literacy represents the ability to use the findings, skills and experience to effective management of private funds in order to ensure lifelong financial security for oneself and his/ her household.

"What you learn in young age, you will find important in old age“. This proverb definitely applies to finances as well. Therefore children should be taught to manage their funds from early age.  Students of the 7th grade at elementary school Severná in Moldava nad Bodvou attended a very interesting lecture held by Professor Ing.  Danková about the financial literacy. They obtained valuable information and advices about management of finances, saving and investment opportunities. The students´ approach to the discussion was very active, they promptly responded to the questions asked. They were rewarded with sweets for the discussion activity.  Contemporary life provides day-to-day evidence of essential nature of the financial literacy despite of the times when it is rather simple and quick to obtain information of any kind. We believe that the discussion contributed to the financial literacy improvement at the students.
