ROMANI LANGUAGE COURSE COMPLETION
Registered participants from the ranks of teaching staff, professional staff, pedagogical assistants, and social workers from educational institutions from Moldava nad Bodvou and the surroundings were acquiring the basics of the Romani language during February and March. During their work, they meet with children and their legal representatives every day, and they often encounter a language barrier.
The course aimed to acquire simple communication competence in the Romani language referring to common situations within a given profession in the category of the basic repertoire of words, simple phrases, basic grammatical structures, and types of sentences.
The final meeting of 23 participants of the Romani language course took place on March 29, 2023, in the Incubator House in Moldava nad Bodvou. With their practical activities, worksheets, projects, variety of exercises, and games, they demonstrated their acquired knowledge and competence in the field of vocabulary, basic phrases, sentence formation, and communication.
The lecturer, Karol Horváth, PhD., a graduate of the state language exam in the Romani language in Prague, was extremely satisfied with the acquired knowledge of his mentees, and each of them, in addition to a certificate, also earned great praise.
We are pleased with the positive feedback from the course participants, and therefore we plan to continue the course in the future.
