The opening conference of the project "The space connects us"
The opening conference of the project “The space connects us“ will take place on Tuesday, February 8th, 2022. The city of Moldava nad Bodvou, together with other partners, received € 725,318 from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism for its implementation, a significant part of it will be used to reconstruct the former cinema into a modern multi-purpose area. The direct goal of the project is to establish a multifunctional center for children and youth, which would be a coordination center for other organizations dealing with children and youth from disadvantaged groups, long-term unemployed young people and young low-income families.
More information about previous activities as well as other plans will be presented by all participating project partners. Mayor Slavomír Borovský on behalf of the town of Moldava nad Bodvou, Mayor Matej Smorada on behalf of Medzev, István Nagy, director of the Religious Joint School, Rudolf Rusňák, youth leader of the civil association BAFF SA, as well as the new director of this center, Mgr. Sylvia Strámová.
"This project was supported as one of the few in Slovakia. Thanks to all interested as well as the donators. It's been a long time since the administration and the covid pandemic has changed our plans a bit. The dynamics of the project have changed and the dedicated budget for the construction part has also increased, and we have to deal with that. But we can do it." says Slavomír Borovský on behalf of the main partner.
The conference will take place for invited participants in the large hall of the City Cultural Center on Hlavná 58 in Moldava nad Bodvou and for those who cannot attend in person, there is the opportunity to join and watch it online at https://meet.google.com/cmo-xaxp-vka.
The conference will also feature children and young people from Moldava and Medzev schools in the cultural program – also, within the permitted regime, either live or on television.
