How much love can fit in a shoebox – wrap up

For the sixth time already, the Christmas charity collection for senior citizens "How much love can fit in a shoe box" was launched during the Advent season across Slovakia, the founders of which are Jana Galatová and Sisa Slobodová.

Many institutions, organizations, and especially many good people in our city of Moldava nad Bodvou and its surroundings decided to get involved and delight the seniors with a gift in which they also put a piece of their heart!
A big thank goes to many great people, with whom we managed to collect over 600 boxes, which gradually went to retirement homes, but also to lonely seniors to bring them a little joy in this beautiful Christmas time.
The following school and preschool facilities participated in the collection and donation of boxes - ČSA 15 Primary school, Moldava n. B., Severná 21 Primary school, Moldava n. B., Grundschule Medzev Primary school, Primary school and Kindergarten Čečejovce, Mokrance Primary school, Gymnasium of Štefan Moyses Moldava nad Bodvou, Agrotechnic Secondary technical school, Dvorníky Kindergarten, Turnňa nad Bodvou Kindergarten, Mokrance Kindergarten, Rosnička Kindergarten, Štvorlístok Kindergarten, Veselá zebra Kindergarten, Paňovce Kindergarten, Mrs. Smoradová from Medzev and many who delivered their boxes to the official collection point - the Multifunctional Center for Children and Youth in Moldava nad Bodvou.
All gifts handed over were checked and marked by the collection, for which many thanks go to my colleagues Nikola Kajča Kissová and Marcela Szepsi.
After many phone calls, organizational security, and planning, the most beautiful part of the collection began - the actual present giving at the Homes for the elderly.
We managed to please our elderly in 6 retirement facilities - Facility for seniors – Home of St. Elizabeth, Patria - Retirement Home, Drienovec Spa, Medzev Grunt Retirement Home, Šugov Retirement Home, Home of Sv. Anna in Poproč, as well as the Poproč Retirement Home, and the facility Eternal Children.
Thanks to the excellent cooperation, the gifting took place in 4 facilities with a short Christmas program, namely - the Čučoriedky Children's Folklore Ensembleled by Eva Tothová, the Pantľika children's choir from ČSA 15 Primary school, a program of pupils from Severná Primary school and Grudnschule Medzev Primary school.
Furthermore, in cooperation with 5 municipalities, we also pleased lonely seniors within the city of Moldava nad Bodvou and the districts of Budulov, Dvorníky, Debraď, Mokrance, and Janík. Each box found its recipient and brought a smile to their face, as well as tears of happiness.
"And I am THANKFUL for all the good people I have around me, and for those who help selflessly and with love. I wish you all the good that you packed in the box will return to you many times over."
Happy New Year 2024!
