ECO DAY IN THE PARK
On the occasion of Earth Day, the 3rd year of the entertainment and educational event called ECO DAY under the auspices of the Municipal Cultural Centre took place in our town.
Together with the members of the Youth Parliament of Moldava nad Bodvou, we from the Multifunctional Centre for Children and Youth got involved and prepared various creative activities for the children.
One of them was a nature puzzle, where the children searched for a matching stone or branch based on the outlines on the paper.
In a wooden quiz called "The forest is not a rubbish dump!" they had to determine how long it takes for certain types of waste to decompose in nature. These findings often surprised even the adults.
The little ones could play with the ECO cube, with which they practised sorting waste into containers based on their colour.
The children could leave us a message or a drawing related to nature and ecology on an imaginary "bulletin board".
As we are all part of nature and want to help preserve its beauty for future generations, we also need to use such activities to remind and teach children how to live sustainably, reduce their ecological footprint and not burden the planet unnecessarily.
